Since 2010, we have given assistance to over 6,200 equines thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors and supporters, and to the families and agencies who partnered with us to help equines in need. Emergency Feed Assistance
Help keep equines healthy and at home through a crisis. Apply now.
Due to limited funds, we are currently only considering new clients for emergency feed assistance.
Gelding Assistance
We offer assistance to New Mexicans with a financial difficulty paying for the costs of gelding colts or stallions. Apply now.
Trail’s End
We can reimburse or pay directly for most veterinary fees and disposal costs related to humanely euthanizing suffering equines. Individuals with a financial need, law enforcement, and horse shelters may also be eligible for this assistance. Please fill out this inquiry form for information and support.
Equine Care Support for Shelters, Government Agencies, and Law Enforcement
Currently available to equine rescue organizations licensed and inspected in New Mexico, and to government and law enforcement agencies, including tribal governments, in New Mexico. Apply now.

We launched the Equine Protection Fund Endowment in partnership with New Mexico Community Foundation in 2014. Earnings from this permanent endowment will ensure that lifesaving direct services and all-important equine policies can be sustained into the future.
