Outstanding Santa Fe Artist Barbara Meikle
Joins Forces with APNM to Help Horses!

Introducing Horse Power: Horses Helping Horses

Every horse, donkey and mule deserves to be sheltered, warm, well fed and properly cared for. Towards this goal, Santa Fe artist Barbara Meikle will support Animal Protection of New Mexico’s Equine Protection Program by donating a generous portion of the proceeds from her commissioned work.

Do you want to have your special equine companion immortalized in an original painting and know that a portion of the costs will be used to directly benefit the lives of other horses in need throughout the state? Ms. Meikle will create an original commissioned painting of your horse that captures the animal’s magical, luminous quality as only she can do.

Paintings are available in various media, sizes and prices. Please call Barbara Meikle for available options. She can be reached at (505) 992-0400. To view examples of Ms. Meikle’s talent, visit: pippinmeiklefineart.com.

More Ways to Help New Mexico’s Horses: HORSE POWER!

Coming this Spring: Horse Power, an artfully constructed hardcover book depicting Barbara Meikle’s most popular horse paintings will be available for purchase. Once again a generous portion of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to Animal Protection of New Mexico’s Equine Protection Program.

About The Equine Protection Program

The Equine Protection Program works with a broad spectrum of New Mexico residents to alleviate the suffering of horses, burros, donkeys and mules by providing support for their immediate needs through the Equine Protection Fund. Fund program services include emergency feed assistance for owners having trouble affording adequate feed, gelding assistance to reduce horse overpopulation and other veterinary services that may be needed. The Program also works on longer-term goals such as support for horse shelters, training of law enforcement officers and seeking training and adoption services for unwanted equines. Launched in 2010, The Equine Protection Program is  New Mexico’s first statewide equine welfare program. For more information, visit the APNM website, or call Equine Protection Program Manager, Phil Carter, at (505) 265-2322, ext. 45.

Remember: Horses are our Passion, Heritage and Responsibility!
