Several months ago, APNM Board President, Anne Coller, set two goals for herself: raise $10,000 for new Mexico's animals and do so by finishing the Albuquerque Duke City Half Marathon. On Sunday morning, October 23rd at 9:45, both goals were accomplished! APNM’s staff and board extend their thanks to Anne for her passion for the animals and for all the hard training that took her across the finish line.
Anne and APNM also offer warm thanks to the many generous people who supported her run and New Mexico's animals with their donations that exceeded the $10,000 goal--$11,161 to be exact. That's a win we can all be proud of!
Anne was greeted at the finish line with flowers and champagne by her husband Bill, APNM Board Director, Tom Alexander, and Deputy Director, Daniel Abram. Many onlookers asked who the flowers were for, giving Tom and Daniel an opportunity to explain that although the marathon was organized to benefit the New Mexico Cancer Center Foundation, it also, through this particular running hero, will benefit animal protection efforts across the state.
