On Monday 5/22, HEART supporters wearing red once again filled the Albuquerque City Council chambers. With supporters holding up “YES” signs, the Council passed HEART by a vote of 6 -3. There were only minor amendments to the progressive ordinance that will make Albuquerque a more humane city for both people and animals. Kudos to Councilor Sally Mayer, and all the supporters who came to council meetings and urged their Councilors to vote in favor of the bill by calling and emailing over the past month.
