ATTN: NM Wildlife Advocates - Game & Fish scheduling public meetings on bear management

The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish will be conducting 6 or more public meetings statewide, at least one per bear management zone, regarding bear and lion management. The basic format will be informal. Itinarary is
as follows:

Presentation of the 2004 bear season results and a 10-year statewide harvest history.

Presentation of the bear population modeling effort.

Presentation of the 2004-2005 seasons cougar harvest statistics as they
stand and a 10-year statewide harvest history.

Open discussion and issues session.

Please inform any interested parties of these meetings. I will send a schedule when it is available.

I'm shooting to hold all the meetings during the last two weeks of February. So far scheduled:

Mon., Feb. 21 Silver city (tentative, no location set)
Wed., Feb. 23 6:00 PM, Albq. Area Office
Sat., Feb. 26 1:00 PM, Raton Area Office
