"The Public Safety and Humane Implications of Persistently Tethering Domestic Dogs" — the collaborative report to the New Mexico Legislature produced by the NM Department of Public Safety and Animal Protection of New Mexico — reached a vast audience in the March/April 2009 issue of All Animals magazine.
The flagship publication of The Humane Society of the United States, All Animals reaches close to 500,000 animal advocates. Animal Protection of New Mexico is proud to be included in the article, "There Ought to be a Law…..and Here's How to Get One Passed." (PDF)

WANTED: VOLUNTEERS
FOR 3 OUTREACH BOOTHS, APRIL 25 & 26, 2009
| |

No time to be a lazy bones--lots of activities to get involved in to celebrate Earth Day and promote the cause of animals.
|
APNM and APV have been invited to be a presence at 3 different outreach events on the week-end of April 25-26 — a feat that will only be possible with the help of wonderful volunteers like you! If any of these events appeal to you and you can help staff a shift at a table of your choice, please contact Arlene at 265-2322 x21 or Arlene@apnm.org, as soon as possible!
OPTION A: FETCH-A-PALOOZA, Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and April 26, to be held on the grounds of the Albuquerque Journal, 7777 Jefferson NE in Albuquerque. Shifts will be between 10-4pm. This event is being billed as the biggest adoption event in NM history, where 40 animal care organizations and shelters from around the state are getting together to find homes for more than 1000 animals. Come help us spread the word about all the things that APNM and APV do in this state to create positive change for animals.
OPTION B: Sunday, April 26, La Montañita Co-op hosts the 20th annual CELEBRATE THE EARTH FESTIVAL in Nob Hill. As usual, there will be good food, good music (Wagogo, Alma Flamenca, Baile Baile and many other bands), hard-working community groups, workshops, presentations and dancing in the streets. If you would like to help out at one of Albuquerque’s most popular annual events, (or even be the coordinator of this outreach table), please get in touch with us.
OPTION C: For you Southern New Mexico animal advocates, please help staff the annual ALAMOGORDO EARTH DAY FAIR on Saturday, April 25 from 10-4. This event too will have many local and state-wide groups represented, and workshops on a wide range of topics will be offered as well as entertainment and food. The event is held on the grounds of the Alamogordo Zoo, and is intended to help raise awareness of our many global environmental issues.
