Animal
Protection of New Mexico
Internship Program
Dear friend of animals,
"I
participated in a 3 month internship with APNM right after college
as a way to ease myself into the working world. During that
time, I assisted APNM's dedicated staff with projects and campaigns
aimed at improving conditions for companion animals in New Mexico.
I also had the opportunity to collaborate with other nonprofit
groups on wildlife conservation and predator control issues.
By the end of my internship, I had acquired a great deal of
knowledge about animal issues in the state, and what it takes
to run a successful nonprofit organization. I highly recommend
APNM's internship for anyone interested in a career as an animal
activist."

Thank
you for expressing an interest in APNM's Internship Program. We
are pleased that you are interested in helping to advance animal
causes in New Mexico. The information on this website describes
the program, including what type of schedule you might expect. Please
be aware that we are a small organization of about six full-time
employees, and our intern program is small as well. We may not be
able to accommodate every person who is interested in becoming an
intern, but we certainly want to include as many people as we possibly
can in our work!
To
be considered for an internship, please return the application (referenced
at left) with your resumé and three letters of recommendation.
In addition, we ask that you write a two page, double-spaced essay
describing your specific interest in the animal movement, what skills
you might offer us, and what you would like to gain from your experience
with APNM. Please include any additional information that you feel
is pertinent.
We
thank you again for your interest, and look forward to hearing from
you soon.
