APNM Teams with Attorney General
in Valencia County Anti-Cruelty Billboard

Billboard headline inspired by local man's actions that saved this mare.

Animal Protection of New Mexico (APNM) was already working to address cruelty issues in Valencia County when, in mid-August, a nearly skeletal mare was found wandering the countryside east of Los Lunas High School, and an area resident out for a hike stayed with her for hours until he was able to rouse the interest of at least one recipient of his many phone calls for help—a local TV news team.

APNM was planning to install a billboard in Valencia County to encourage the public to report extreme cruelty to animals when that starving horse story broke in a 10 p.m. August newscast.
