1. It's important to write the New Mexico Game Commission and let them know that you care about our state's cougars. Let them know that they are representing you and that it is their obligation to make informed and responsible decisions about all our state's wildlife, which is held in trust for all citizens. Before you write the commissioners, please first take the time to read the cougar information on this website.
2. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper, voicing your opinions about cougars and the Game Commission's actions. Keep your letter short and sweet and to the point. That will increase its chances of being printed. ALWAYS call the newspaper a few days after you've submitted your letter (either by email, fax or US Mail) and ask if they're going to be considering printing your letter, since it's an important issue to a lot of people. Letters to the editor are read by thousands of people, and so you are reaching a large sector of the population with your letter if it's printed.
3. Support APNM with a contribution. Even small donations help!
